Had a great experience with Nick C. on the replacement of the AC units in my apartment. He seemed knowledgable and provided several options but I didn't feel pressured on any upsell. He responded to my emails in a timely manner and he and his courteous team showed up on installation day on time. He took the time to explain the controls and any issues we may come across. After dealing with another rude and unresponsive AC dealer, Nick and Domestic Air was literally a breath of fresh air. Would highly recommend.

Avoid Appliance Repair Services with These Top Maintenance Tips

If you’re a resident of Corona, NY, you understand the importance of keeping your household appliances in top-notch condition. At Domestic Air Conditioning, we specialize in providing exceptional appliance repair services to the Queens County community, but we also believe in helping our customers prevent the need for repairs whenever possible. In this guide, we’ll share some key maintenance tips that can help you avoid inconvenient appliance breakdowns.

  1. Regular Cleaning and Maintenance

One of the simplest yet most effective ways to extend the lifespan of your appliances is regular cleaning and maintenance. Domestic Air Conditioning recommends that you clean the filters and vents of your appliances, such as your HVAC system, refrigerator, and dryer, at least once a month. This helps improve their efficiency and reduces the risk of breakdowns in the long run.

  1. Inspect for Leaks and Drips

Leaking appliances can lead to significant damage and costly repairs. Periodically inspect your dishwasher, washing machine, and water heater for any leaks or drips. Addressing these issues promptly can save you from expensive water damage repairs in the future.

  1. Avoid Overloading Appliances

Overloading your appliances can strain their components, leading to premature wear and tear. Be mindful of the load limits for your washing machine, dishwasher, and other appliances. Avoid overloading them to ensure they continue to function efficiently.

  1. Replace Worn Out Parts Promptly

If you notice any signs of wear or malfunction in your appliances, don’t hesitate to contact Domestic Air Conditioning for a quick assessment and repair. Ignoring these issues can lead to more extensive and expensive problems down the road.

  1. Schedule Regular Professional Inspections

Lastly, one of the best ways to prevent costly appliance repairs is to schedule regular professional inspections. At Domestic Air Conditioning, we offer comprehensive appliance inspection services in Corona, NY. Our experienced technicians can identify potential issues early and provide proactive solutions to keep your appliances in excellent condition.

Have a question?

The area was originally known as West Flushing, but various theories have arisen for its etymology. One theory is that it was renamed by music producer Benjamin W. Hitchcock, a developer who renamed the area in 1872 and sold off land for residential development. Another theory is that real estate developer Thomas Waite Howard, who became the first postmaster in 1872, petitioned to have the post office name changed to Corona in 1870, suggesting that it was the “crown of Queens County.” A third theory is that the name Corona derives from the crown used as an emblem by the Crown Building Company, which is said to have developed the area. The Italian immigrants who moved into the new housing stock referred to the neighborhood by the Italian or Spanish word for “crown”, or corona.

Corona was a late-19th-century residential development in the northeastern corner of the old Town of Newtown. Real estate speculators from New York started the community in 1854, the same year that the New York and Flushing Railroad began service to the area largely to serve a newly opened race course. It was at the Fashion Race Course in 1858 that the first games of baseball to charge admission took place. The games, which took place between the All Stars of Brooklyn and the All Stars of New York, are commonly believed to be the first all-star baseball games and in essence the birthplace of professional baseball. A trophy baseball from this tournament sold in 2005 for nearly $500,000.

During the second half of the 1940s through the 1960s, many legendary African-American musicians, civil rights leaders and athletes moved to the neighborhood. In the last half of the 20th century, Corona saw dramatic ethnic successions. In the 1950s, what was predominantly an Italian-American and African-American neighborhood began to give way to an influx of Dominicans. In the late 1990s, Corona saw a new wave of immigrants from Latin America. The area north of Roosevelt Avenue contained the heart of the historic African-American community. The intersection of 108th Street and Corona Avenue is the historic center of the Italian-American community, sometimes referred to as Corona Heights. The majority Hispanic community now consists of Dominicans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Bolivians, Peruvians, Mexicans, Venezuelans, and Chileans. There are also Asian Americans (Chinese, Indians, Koreans, Filipinos, and Japanese) as well as Italian Americans and African Americans.
